1. What Rooftree is

Rooftree turns your home inspection report into a living owner's manual: a prioritized plan, maintenance calendar, records, and planning estimates for your home. Memberships are typically gifted through your home inspector or purchased at www.rooftree.com.

2. Estimates are planning tools, not professional advice

Cost ranges, home values, mortgage figures, and the "Estimated Home Net Worth" are planning estimates built from your inspection report, your inputs, and stated assumptions. They are not appraisals, contractor quotes, financial advice, or a substitute for professional judgment. Your inspection report itself remains the inspector's document, governed by their agreement with you; Rooftree displays it without alteration but does not re-inspect your home.

3. Memberships, trials, and billing

Rooftree offers two retail plans, each covering one home at a time: Yearly at $79 per year, and Lifetime at $299 once. A Lifetime membership covers each home you own, one at a time, for the rest of your life — it moves with you when you sell. A second home held at the same time runs on its own membership. Memberships gifted through your inspector are free to you and involve no billing.

Retail signups start with a 31-day free trial — no payment method required, and nothing to cancel to avoid a charge. If the trial ends without you choosing a plan, nothing is billed: your account remains and your data stays readable, but the live features (value updates, recall watch, reminders) pause until you restore.

If you choose a plan, payment happens on your membership page. A payment method added during the trial is charged when the trial ends: the Yearly plan's first year is charged and the plan renews automatically each year at the then-current price until you cancel; the Lifetime plan is charged once. You can cancel anytime from your membership page — for the Yearly plan, cancellation takes effect at the end of the term already paid.

Payments are processed by Stripe; your card details go directly to Stripe and we never see or store card numbers. Prices are in U.S. dollars and exclude any applicable taxes. Promotional codes may change pricing for a specific signup and are not transferable.

Refunds: if we ever charge you in error, tell us and we'll fix it. A Yearly renewal can be refunded if you ask within 14 days of the renewal charge. Otherwise fees are non-refundable — the free trial exists so you can decide before paying anything.

4. Your account

Sign-in is by a one-time email code or link — keep control of your email account. You may invite co-owners to your household; they see what you see. You are responsible for activity under your household's accounts.

5. Your content

Photos, records, and details you add belong to you. You give us permission to store and display them back to you and your household — that's the whole license. When you delete something, it is removed from your account immediately and from our systems permanently.

6. Acceptable use

Don't misuse the service: no unauthorized access, no scraping, no using Rooftree for anything unlawful, no claiming a membership for a home that isn't yours.

7. Disclaimers and liability

Rooftree is provided "as is" during the pilot. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim implied warranties and our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (for gifted memberships, $100). Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

8. Ending things

You can stop using Rooftree, or ask us to delete your household and its data, at any time (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend accounts that violate these terms. If your inspector's partnership with us ends, your claimed membership continues.

9. Changes

We may update these terms as the pilot evolves; material changes will be announced in the app. Continued use after a change is acceptance.

10. Public and third-party data

Some of what Rooftree shows you comes from public and third-party sources, each named where it appears: the National Weather Service and NOAA Storm Prediction Center (weather and storm reports), FEMA (disaster declarations), EPA and USGS (radon zones, seismic categories), CPSC (recalls), and the U.S. Census Bureau (geocoding). These sources provide their data "as is"; we pass along what they publish and identify who published it, and we do not warrant it.

This product uses the FRED® API but is not endorsed or certified by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. By using Rooftree, you agree to be bound by the FRED® API Terms of Use.
